It’s summer 1992..
Obsession
Production titled; YOUNG, because our main character is hellbent on realizing his potential, at any cost, before the world deems him as “old, washed, forgotten.” Deemed the ‘Orson Welles of our Generation’ in the tabloids years ago, he wrote and directed a feature at a very young age, but has failed to follow up to the expectation placed upon him. Falling into Hollywood lust, distraction, and vanity, he has been an absent passenger of time for the last six years, leaning on a supporting role in a cheap-thrill action show for cash. Now wondering if he has lost his chance to prove something to the world, he scrambles to finish his next screenplay before it is too late, and he drowns in lost potential.
Alienation
When one completely and unwaveringly commits one’s life to one’s purpose, an island forms in which only they, and their self-imposed prophecy, exist. Seemingly everyone and everything fades. This story not only exemplifies the heartbreak of this doomed isolation, but the inevitability of it, for anyone cursed with a gnawing voice deep within echoing “you have to do this”.
Tragedy
Obsessed, alienated, a tragedy then occurs when our peripheral becomes compromised and all we can see is what we have yet to accomplish. Like a steam roller, we tread right on over everyone, even those that could have loved us, those who could of mended our loud minds and heavy hearts -- we outcast.
Time
At the core of this intimate portrait of youth, is time. Our main character sits right in the phantom space between nostalgia and potential. He yearns for the innocence of childhood, but at the same time aches for time to continue it’s haunting momentum so he can move toward his dreams. The two women of the story represent the opposing pillars. Mia, still possessing innocence and time. Charlotte, facing the reality of age. An existential love triangle forms, forcing a decision, that will change his life thereafter.

Mia; The free-spirited intellectual
Female, Age 19-24
A worldly European traveler beyond her age, whose curiosity, intelligence, wit, and unabridged emotional vulnerability awaken something in the protagonist. She comes from a painful upbringing, forced to become independent at a very young age. She has chosen a romantic approach to life, but is anything but naïve. Endlessly adventurous, she lusts for all the world has to offer. She beats to her drum and acts on instinct, boasting an alluring desire for the human experience.
Director’s note: I am looking for precise look and spark over acting experience or prestige. Only if you feel connected to the character, submit. If you haven’t acted before, I encourage you to give it a shot. We’re looking for raw talent and desire over resume.
Charlotte; The gypsy arteur
Female, Age 34-45
One of those humans, if you’re lucky to bump into, that has an angelic presence; making you wonder if she is real or not. Beautiful, in her own distinct way, Charlotte is dealing with the
deteriorating pain of aging beyond her potential. A child at heart, dreams still iridescent in her eyes, but the world crushing down on her. She finds Alex to be a shelter from a ruthless storm, and to him, she serves as a guiding spirit. Both revel in their chemistry forming a unique relationship at a nightly cadence.
